This is the second of the BDR-X routes developed by the Backcountry Discovery Route community. It is designed as a 500 mile loop allowing riders to start at any point and return there. Vehicles can be left at the starting point and be there waiting for you at the end at the end. The route is a spur off the last 2 sections of the MABDR then extends to the west into the Pa Wilds area. 

Similar to the MABDR, the Pa Wilds route is primarily made up of gravel and forest roads with similar degree of difficulty as the MA. There are also several “expert” sections along the route if riders would like a bit more of a challenge. The route is made up of 4 sections extending from Wellsboro to St. Mary’s, from St. Mary’s to State College. From State College to New Columbia and then returning to Wellsboro. 

We will add some added interesting stop overs over the course of the ride including the Elk Country in Benezette, Hyner View and Colton Point State Park overlooks.

NEBDR®    Crossing more state lines and covering more mileage than any other BDR makes the NEBDR one of the most diverse routes in the BDR series. Every state delivers a unique experience unto itself and while sections can be done over an extended weekend, riders who commit to the entire 1,400-mile route will truly feel as though they had an adventure of a lifetime.

The tour begins in Hancock, NY and remains in the Empire state for the next three days before moving into Massachusetts and Connecticut. We will move further north into Vermont where we will see the bulk of the optional, and challenging, Class IV roads. We then cross into New Hampshire, Maine and we finish back into New Hampshire at the Canadian border.

Utah Backcountry Discovery Route – September 2024

This trip will be our inaugural trip on the Utah Backcountry Discovery Route (UTBDR). The route was the second BDR following the Washington BDR, which was the first in the series. The UTBDR begins in the town of Mexican Hat, UT then ascends north and into the Valley of the Gods loop. There is just nothing else quite like Utah and this 871-mile route will take riders to some unforgettable places. The route also includes other  iconic places including Moab, the Abajo and La Sal mountains, Onion Creek, 9 Mile Canyon and the Wasatch Mountains. Deep sand challenges riders in places, and a few expert-only options provide excitement for those that seek adrenaline. Lockhart Basin is the highlight of these expert sections and is not for the faint of heart. The route finishes up at the Idaho Border. 

Pennsylvania’s Endless Mountains Tour – October 2024

Pennsylvania’s Endless Mountains stretches across the Northern Tier of the state encompassing the counties of Bradford, Sullivan, Wyoming and Susquehanna. Why are they Endless? Because they, and the views, go on forever. Remote State Forests and Parks dot the region. Small towns dominate, along with the hospitality that goes with them. And as the spring season awakens, and the forest canopy returns, we will explore secluded roads, fields, lakes and mountain overlooks. 

This tour will be perfect for the new Adventure Rider who may not yet be ready for a longer, point to point ride that usually features a different location each night. Instead, this ride will begin and end each day in the Tioga County town of Mansfield, Pa. Lodging will be at an area bed and breakfast inn and hotel. 

One dinner will be included at an area restaurant. 

The 3 days of riding will feature loops averaging about 160 miles each day.
