The idea to start Emmaus MotoTours came to John Ciribassi while riding in Colorado on the Colorado Backcountry Discovery Route®. He envisioned a company that would bring together small groups of riders with a love of off road motorcycling together for great experiences.
Realizing that most people don’t have the time or patience to carefully plan a trip through the backcountry, he thought there must be a better way of organizing riders together. John has been riding motorcycles for over 40 years, but it was planning an off road ride in Moab, Utah with his brother, Paul, that gave him the initial idea of someday running a tour company. After retiring from his career as a veterinarian in 2018, he thought it was time to give his dream a shot.
The driving force behind planning rides for John is bringing together diverse groups of people and letting adventure motorcycles be the catalyst that unites individuals. These type of rides over the years have created great friendships. And in the end it is the relationships that we form that is the ultimate reason for the ride.
John currently rides a Yamaha T7 and a KTM EXC 350F. He is married to Elise and they live in the western suburbs of Chicago. Elise and John have two daughters, Danielle and Rebekah. We look forward to hosting a tour for you and getting a chance to ride together.
